Postane: Archeology of a Building
The audio exhibition Postane: Archeology of a Building is a collection of memories, gathered by the research that has been conducted since 2021 by Liana Kuyumcuyan and Murat Tülek on Postane Istanbul.
Built in 1859 as the British Post Office, the building served various functions, from a residential building to a film production studio, until its final renovation. Postane: Archeology of a Building is an audio journey through the former lives of the building, based on the archival and oral history research conducted between 2021-2023.
Through QR codes spread around the building, the visitors can listen to narrations of the building’s past and excerpts from interviews conducted with former residents since 2021.
